SERI KEMBANGAN: Sebuah kompleks perniagaan yang terbengkalai di sini dijadikan tempat kediaman oleh sekumpulan warga asing tanpa dikesan pihak berkuasa sejak lebih lima bulan lalu. Kompleks yang hampir 70 peratus siap itu dibahagikan kepada beberapa bilik dan belum mempunyai bekalan air serta elektrik tetapi didiami golongan itu yang dikatakan tidak mempunyai sebarang pekerjaan.

KUANTAN, Wed. - A group of 19 buyers of a high-end condominium project in Sungai Karang today filed a petition in the High Court to wind up the developer in their bid to revive and complete the project. The project, called Sunny Beach Resort, was supposed to be completed in 1995. It was abandoned in 1996 after only 90 per cent completed.

Projek membabitkan penempatan semula kira-kira 600 nelayan di beberapa kampung sekitar Kuala Kedah itu akan diteruskan secepat mungkin tanpa mengubah struktur.

JOHOR BAHRU, Khamis - Kerajaan negeri memberi jaminan projek pembinaan 219 unit kilang di Taman Perindustrian Tiram, Ulu Tiram, dekat sini bernilai RM80 juta yang terbengkalai sejak tahun lalu, dapat disiapkan dan beroperasi 1 Julai depan. Ketika ini, projek pembinaan kilang bagi kemudahan kegiatan Industri Kecil dan Sederhana (IKS) yang dijangka beroperasi awal tahun ini, gagal disiapkan mengikut jadual disebabkan pemajunya tidak berkemampuan meneruskan pembinaannya termasuk kerana menghadapi masalah kewangan.

JOHOR BAHRU: Kerajaan negeri memberi tempoh empat bulan sehingga 15 Jun depan, bagi pemaju baru menyiapkan pembinaan kilang menempatkan industri ringan seperti pengeluaran plastik dan perabot yang terbengkalai di Taman Perindustrian Tiram, Ulu Tiram, dekat sini. Kilang berkenaan sepatutnya beroperasi awal tahun ini, tetapi gagal disiapkan mengikut jadual disebabkan pemajunya tidak berkemampuan meneruskan pembinaannya termasuk kerana menghadapi masalah kewangan.

JOHOR BAHRU, Khamis - Projek perumahan rumah kos rendah Taman Puteri Wangsa, di Ulu Tiram, dekat sini adalah projek perumahan terbengkalai terakhir di negeri ini dapat diselesaikan, selepas menerima Sijil Layak Menduduki (CF) bulan lalu. Projek perumahan membabitkan 1,422 unit rumah kos rendah itu terbengkalai sejak 12 tahun lalu, tetapi 896 unit daripada jumlah keseluruhan rumah jenis itu sudah disiapkan dua tahun lalu.

Subang Jaya State Assemblyman Datuk Lee Hwa Beng said the developer, Korakyat Plantations Sdn Bhd, had stopped work since last year, leaving the buyers in debt as they had been paying more than RM5,000 in interest to service their loans since 1994.

Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon said the State Government wanted to facilitate the completion of these projects involving 5,381 units with the help of the Finance Ministry, Bank Negara, the Housing and Local Government Ministry and financial institutions.

THE case of 156 purchasers of low cost housing units in Bandar Baru Slim River, Perak, who are still waiting for their houses after 12 years has been referred to the Attorney-General's Chambers. Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Dr Ting Chew Peh said the AG's Chambers was looking into how the whole project was auctioned off without protecting the rights of the purchasers who had paid up to 30 per cent of the purchase price.

Buyers lodge report over abandoned project

KUALA LUMPUR, Tues. - A group representing 554 property buyers in Bukit OUG in Jalan Kelang Lama lodged a report with the city police commercial crime department today claiming that the developer had failed to deliver their homes. Speaking on behalf of the group, Loh Kwong Cheng, a Singapore national, claimed in his report that the developer (Sri Keladi Sdn Bhd) had defaulted in delivering their homes since 1997, as per their sales and purchase agreement.
