250 projek pembangunan di Kelantan terbengkalai

KOTA BHARU, Ahad - Sebanyak 250 projek pembangunan, termasuk projek perumahan di Kelantan tergendala, kerana tidak mendapat bekalan air sejak projek bekalan air di negeri ini diswastakan dua tahun lalu. Timbalan Menteri Besar, Abdul Halim Abdul Rahman, berkata masalah itu jika dibiarkan, akan menjejaskan pertumbuhan industri pembinaan di negeri ini.

BATU PAHAT: Pembeli sebuah taman perumahan di Peserai, dekat sini, mengeluh kerana terpaksa menunggu lama, malah ada sudah meninggal dunia sebelum sempat berpindah kerana rumah berkenaan masih belum siap sejak 1994 sehingga kini. Projek pembinaan itu terus terbengkalai walaupun pembeli sudah membuat pembayaran pendahuluan empat tahun lalu, dan kini terpaksa menanggung beban membayar faedah bulanan kepada institusi kewangan yang mengeluarkan pinjaman.

Proposal to build on vacant space rejected

KANGAR, Tues. - The State Government has rejected a developer's proposal to construct additional housing units on vacant space in an abandoned housing project area as a means to revive the development. State Housing and Local Government Committee chairman Khor Liang Tee said today the vacant space in the abandoned Taman Seri Idaman at Jalan Kaki Bukit was meant for recreational purposes.

AT least four developers in Petaling Jaya have decided to stop work or delay the completion of their projects until the economic problems facing the country are over. Petaling Jaya Municipal Council president Datuk Mohamad Nor Bador said he had received letters from the developers informing the council of their decision recently.

KKTP dapat pinjaman pulih 5 projek rumah

KKTP Sdn Bhd, syarikat milik penuh kerajaan Sabah, memperolehi kemudahan pinjaman berjumlah RM41.5 juta daripada Arab-Malaysian Merchant Bank Berhad (AMMB), bagi memulihkan lima projek perumahan terbengkalai di negeri ini. KKTP dijangka mengambil alih serta memulihkan projek perumahan Taman Ehsan Fasa II di Kudat membabitkan 232 unit rumah; Taman Richdar, Kota Kinabalu (230 unit); Taman Kota, Keningau (254 unit); Taman Orchid, Tawau (71 unit) serta Taman Hartawan, Kota Kinabalu (40 unit).

Penduduk mungkin gagal duduki rumah

PENDUDUK melabur RM13 juta untuk membeli rumah baru di sebuah taman perumahan di Senawang hasil daripada jualan tanah mereka, tetapi hasrat mendudukinya mungkin tidak kesampaian. SEREMBAN: Masalah yang dihadapi lebih 400 pemilik tanah di Sendayan, dekat Seremban semakin rumit berikutan syarikat yang membeli tanah mereka sebelum ini dikatakan tidak berhasrat memajukannya. Mereka yang bergelar jutawan segera, sudah menerima pembayaran 10 peratus atau antara RM120,000 hingga RM140,000 seorang hasil daripada penjualan tanah masing-masing seluas 3.2 hingga 4.2 hektar, bimbang kerana mungkin terpaksa membayar balik wang yang diterima itu kepada pembeli.

Kedah plan to revive idle housing projects

KEDAH has arranged rescue package for abandoned housing projects in the state by jointly restructuring the projects with the Housing and Local Government Ministry and developers, state Housing Committee chairman Datuk Syed Razak Syed Zain said. The ministry has a list of developers to help revive such projects, he said on Monday after meeting with the developer of the Sungai Raya estate housing project and plantation workers in Langkawi.

ARTHUR Anderson and Co, which has been appointed the receiver and manager of the abandoned Korakyat Industrial Park project (known previously as Subang Mewah Industrial Park), has given an assurance to the 478 buyers of the factory units that it will do its best to revive the project. Its corporate recovery manager Aaron Loh, who said this yesterday, added that it was the intention of the company to revive the project and to complete it on time.

Nabbed for trying to steal metal pieces from abandoned project

SIX men were detained while trying to load metal pieces from an abandoned project site onto two one-tonne lorries about 7pm on Wednesday along Jalan Tunku Munawir in Seremban. Seremban OCPD Assistant Commissioner Mak Chee Onn said the suspects, aged between 35 to 50 years, are being held pending investigations.

KUALA LUMPUR: Pembeli rumah pangsa blok G Vista Angkasa, Bukit Kerinchi, di sini terus dibelenggu keresahan apabila projek perumahan yang terbengkalai hampir lima tahun, masih belum disiapkan. Wakil pembeli, Nordin Yaacob, berkata antara masalah dialami 156 pembeli ialah terpaksa menanggung perbelanjaan tinggi iaitu membuat pembayaran rumah pangsa Vista Angkasa itu dan pada masa sama, terpaksa terus membayar rumah yang kini disewa daripada Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL).

Pembeli kecewa pemaju gagal bina rumah

IPOH, Rabu - Seramai 312 pembeli rumah kos rendah di Taman Pinggir Rishah Hijau, Silibin, dekat sini, kecewa dan berasa tertipu apabila pemaju projek tidak membina rumah walaupun sudah menandatangani perjanjian pembeliannya serta membayar deposit sejak 1994. Ketua Biro Perhubungan Awam dan Aduan MCA Perak, Anthony Pook, berkata kebanyakan pembeli sudah membayar sebanyak RM31,000 manakala sesetengah membayar deposit yang ditetapkan.

WORK on the construction of Block G of the Vista Angkasa flats in Bukit Kerinchi is being carried out and has not been abandoned as claimed by the owners. A spokesman for Kien Sinar Sdn Bhd, the main contractor and co-developer of the project, said they were left with "minimal work" to complete it.

Assistance for developers

LKPP Property Sdn Bhd, a Pahang State Government subsidiary company, is willing to assist in any abandoned housing projects if they are referred to the company, Agricultural Industry Development Board (LKPP) chairman Datuk Hasan Arifin said yesterday in Kuantan. Developers facing problems in continuing with their projects can refer them to LKPP Property to be studied and for eventual assistance, he said after the launch of Taman Guru II housing project by Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalil Yaakob in Kuantan. The project was taken over by LKPP Property after it was abandoned for 12 years due to outstanding bank debts totalling RM22 million. It involved the construction of 60 units of three-room terrace houses, 16 units of three-room single-storey semi-detached houses and 24 units of four-room single-storey semi-detached houses. Hasan, who is also the Deputy Menteri Besar, said LKPP Property wil set up a new development centre in Penor Jaya with housing projects and light industries involving a development cost of RM150 million. - Bernama

Ting: No cases of housing projects being abandoned

DESPITE the economic downturn, there have been no cases of housing projects being abandoned, Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Dr Ting Chew Peh said. He said this could be attributed to the housing development account set up in 1991 under the Housing Developers Act.

295 housing projects completed

A TOTAL of 295 housing projects which were abandoned over the past 15 years have been completed and were now ready for occupation, Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Dr Ting Chew Peh said yesterday. He said the projects were revived at an estimated cost of about RM2.9 billion financed either by the Government through the Abandoned Housing Project Rehabilitation Fund or taken over by new developers.
