A FAILURE by property developers to carry out detailed market surveys has
resulted in a serious overhang in residential property supply, according

New law to regulate maintenance fees soon
KOTA KINABALU, Thurs. - A Building Maintenance and Services Bill which will
allow buyers of apartments to determine the maintenance costs of their premises
will be tabled in Parliament in September. Deputy Housing and Local Government
Minister Datuk M. Kayveas said today the Bill was being introduced following
complaints of excessive maintenance costs imposed by housing developers.
State plans board to manage low-cost units

of Indonesian workers from the industry. "There is no reason prices should

THE Selangor State Economic Council will step in to solve disputes

Buyers of stalled projects taking developers to court
SOME buyers of the stalled Rhythm and Newgate Avenue service
apartment projects in USJ, Subang Jaya are initiating legal action against
the developers to reclaim their monies with interest. The buyers met officials
of the Consumers Association of Subang and Shah Alam, Selangor (Cassa) last
Saturday to request further action by the association to protect their rights
and interests in the matter.
`Wall cracks still appearing'

Pay maintenance fees, condo residents urged
LAND and Co-operative Development Deputy Minister Dr Tan Kee

Perak residents pampered, says MB
IPOH, Fri. - Residents in Perak are a pampered group when it
comes to house ownership, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Tajol Rosli Ghazali said
today. He said there were some who refused to purchase three-room low-cost
homes priced at RM35,000 in urban areas, while others in rural areas wanted
the State to allocate housing lots.
Former mining workers tired of long delay in project
FOR four years, former workers of Killing Hall Tin Malaysia

Police report lodged against developers
THE Consumers Association of Subang and Shah Alam (Cassa) lodged
a report at the Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Division last Friday asking the
police to investigate the developers whose apartment projects in USJ19 and
USJ21 have stalled for the past 11 months. The report was made against the
developers of Rhythm Avenue and Newgate apartments, the banks and the solicitors
concerned on behalf of 167 purchasers who are demanding their monies back
