States fail to reach low-cost homes target 05/01/2003 NSUNT
MIRI, Sat. - Several States have not met their target in building low-cost homes, and this has made it difficult for the Government to provide houses for the lower income group. Deputy Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Peter Chin declined to name the States, but said their failure was a big let-down for the Federal Government.

AFTER years of waiting, residents of Palm Court Condominium, Brickfields, will receive their strata title between seven months and a year, said Deputy Land and Co-operative Development Minister Dr Tan Kee Kwong. Tan gave the assurance to residents after meeting recently with the Palm Court Owners and Residents Association and developer Ramal Properties Sdn Bhd. Tan had received complaints the developer had failed to obtain the strata titles for 685 units of Blocks A, B and C even after the full certificate of fitness for occupation (CFO) was awarded in 1999.
