KERAJAAN Kelantan diminta menyelesaikan segera masalah pengagihan 48 unit Perumahan Awam Kos Rendah (PAKR) di Kampung Kubang Panjang, dekat sini yang terbengkalai, sejak tujuh tahun lalu. Ini kerana ia bukan sahaja merugikan kerajaan tetapi juga menjejaskan keselamatan dan ketenteraman penduduk di kawasan sekitar.

GREENVIEW APARTMENT residents in Taman Pusat Kepong were up in arms yesterday against their developer who intends to cut their water supply in retaliation against their failure to settle service charges. The residents were given two warning notices this month saying the management company, MBf Building Services Sdn Bhd, would cut off supply tomorrow.

KOTA KINABALU, Sat. - State Education Department director Datuk Hasbullah Mohd Taha today launched the Taman Wawasan 2020 show house in Petagas, near here. This project was revived by Vertitiech (M) Sdn Bhd, a joint venture partner of Ko-Pelajaran (Sabah) Berhad which had abandoned the project in 1986 due to unforeseen circumstances.

KUALA LUMPUR, Tues. - Authorities will meet tomorrow to decide the fate of some 240 flat-dwellers affected when their building at Jalan Tun Razak was partly damaged due to soil erosion caused by a burst underground water pipe. At least four units in the four-storey block of flats suffered cracks measuring two centimetres, while others saw hairline cracks developing from the front portion up to the living room wall as the soil erosion caused earth movements under the building.

BLOCK G of the PKNS Kampung Baru flats off Jalan Tun Razak was declared safe yesterday but the 200 occupants are not budging from the community hall where they sought refuge on Monday night. They moved out of the four-storey building on Monday evening after cracks, caused by a underground pipe that burst from work on an elevated highway project, appeared on the walls and floors of several ground floor units.

KUALA LUMPUR, Wed. - Projek Lintasan Kota Sdn Bhd will move 40 families out of a block of partially-damaged flats at Jalan Tun Razak. The flats were affected by work to divert underground sewage pipes to facilitate the construction of an elevated highway.

KUALA LUMPUR, Thurs. - Forty families from the Kampung Padang flats at Jalan Tun Razak are temporarily housed at a hotel in Chow Kit pending completion of work to lay sewage pipes to facilitate the construction of the elevated highway project. The residents' representatives Rahim Pagi said all the families moved into the hotel about 2pm with expenses borne by the project concessionaire Projek Lintasan Kota Sdn Bhd (Prolintas).

CF delay irks Alor Gajah house buyers 22/12/1997  NST
MALACCA, Sun. - More than 500 low, low-medium and medium-cost house buyers in Taman Pengkalan Indah near Machap are angry at the Alor Gajah District Council for the delay in getting the certificate of fitness although the project was completed a year ago. Most fear they may not be able to move in before Hari Raya-Chinese New Year as electricity or water supply depend on the CF being issued.

Developer fined RM20,000 BT 23/12/1997
THE developer of the Ukay Perdana housing project was fined RM20,000 by the Sessions Court in Kuala Lumpur yesterday after it pleaded guilty to breaching a condition relating to its environmental impact assessment report. Ikatan Rapi Sdn Bhd, represented by its director, Suhaimy Husin, pleaded guilty to having solid substance at double the level of 50 mg/1 level permitted the EIA report at its project site.

KUALA LUMPUR: Pembeli rumah di beberapa projek perumahan terutama di sekitar Lembah Klang berhadapan dengan risiko diisytiharkan muflis berikutan kegagalan pemaju menyiapkan projek mengikut jadual serta kenaikan faedah pinjaman mendadak. Keadaan itu juga dikatakan semakin membimbangkan ketika ini berikutan kegawatan ekonomi negara yang memberi kesan negatif terhadap sektor itu terutama pembeli yang membuat pinjaman bank.

Duped into paying RM2,500 `deposit' 29/12/1997 MM
TWENTY-NINE people were allegedly duped into paying RM2,500 each to a conman for low-cost houses in a non-existent project in Puchong Permai, Selangor. All the victims lodged reports at the Dang Wangi police station last week against the man who claimed to have connections with the Selangor State Government which he alleged is developing the project.
