KUALA LUMPUR : As a financier, Affin Bank Berhad has no authority to meet property purchasers on the fate of Villaria Apartment in Taman Desaria, Jalan Klang Lama.

Its recovery department manager, Tan Keng Tiong, said since the project is under receivership and manager (R&M), the bank cannot meet buyers of the apartment units because it is not the developer.
"We are only the financier. We don't meet purchasers because once we meet them, it would look like we are committing ourselves to the project," he added.

Kelana Jaya MP Loh Seng Kok who had raised the problem in Parliament recently said he has written to the Housing and Local Government Ministry to look into the matter.

"I am waiting for the Ministry's reply. I urge the buyers to be patient as I am doing my best to help them," he said.
