$43.6j untuk projek rumah 04/09/1991 BH
SEREMBAN, Selasa - Empat belas projek perumahan terbengkalai di negeri ini mendapat bantuan $43.6 juta daripada Tabung Pemulihan Projek Terbengkalai (TPPT) menerusi Bank Negara. Menteri Besar, Tan Sri Haji Mohd Isa Abdul Samad, berkata semua projek itu mempunyai 2,203 unit rumah kos rendah.

AFTER four years of uncertainty and anxiety, 760 low-cost housebuyers of units at the abandoned Kelab Tuanku Jaafar project off Jalan Port Dickson are now assured that construction work on their homes will resume soon. Bank Negara has approved $14.4 million for the developer to resume the project under its special fund to revive abandoned housing projects, Negri Sembilan Menteri Besar, Tan Sri Mohamad Isa Abdul Samad, said yesterday.

PUBLIC Finance has appointed Mr Kenneth Teh Ah Kiam of Price Waterhouse as receiver and manager of Desa Puchong, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Imatex, on August 30 under powers contained in two debenture deeds both dated October 17 1988. This appointment is in accordance with the requirements of the Abandoned Housing Projects Fund (AHPF) so that the financial assistance could be effected for the revival of the Taman Sri Puchong housing project, Imatex said in a statement yesterday. Desa Puchong's receivership and the assistance from AHPF are part of the Imatex group restructuring scheme announced last February. The debts owing to Public Finance and other consortium lender to which the debentures relate, are to be fully settled by way of issue of new shares in Newco under new scheme.

INSTITUSI kewangan tempatan diminta berkerjasama bagi membantu pelaksanaan rancangan pemulihan projek perumahan terbengkalai, dengan menghapuskan jumlah denda, faedah atau mengurangkan jumlahnya. Selain itu, mereka juga diminta mempercepatkan permohonan pinjaman, bagi kes rumah terbengkalai yang mendapat sokongan Tabung Projek Perumahan Terbengkalai (TPPT) dan Tabung Pemulihan Usahawan (TPU).

$234.46m loans for abandoned projects 06/09/1991 BT
THE Abandoned Housing Projects Fund (AHPF) panel has to date approved loans for $234.46 million involving 73 applicants, Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said yesterday. He also announced that the Entrepreneur Rehabilitation Fund (ERF) panel has so far approved $544.86 million in loans involving 379 applications.

THE Government is studying the possibility of setting up a one-stop agency to handle matters relating to housing development projects in a move to reduce red tape. Housing and Local Government Minister Dr Ting Chew Peh said in Kuala Lumpur yesterday the Government acknowledges that at present developers face a long waiting period as they have to deal with 10 ministries and 23 government departments before their projects can get off the ground.

THE Cendana-type houses in Taman Seri Gombak are safe. This assurance was given by the developer, Hillcrest Gardens Sdn Bhd, who said the allegations by house buyers are baseless. THE developer of the 19 houses in Taman Putra damaged by erosion says it has not given any undertaking to the State Government to build replacement units for the affected families. A spokesman for the developer, MCB Holdings Bhd, said the company was not liable for the damages as the houses had been handed over to the buyers more than a year ago.
