Taman Senawang Jaya project revived
27/09/2007 NST

SEREMBAN: Syarikat Perumahan Negara Bhd (SPNB) has successfully revived the abandoned Taman Senawang Jaya (Phase 1C) project, ending an almost three decade of heartache suffered by house buyers.

The project launched in 1984 was abandoned when it was only 20 per cent completed due to the financial and management problems faced by the previous developer.

SPNB managing director Dr Kamarul Rashdan Salleh said more than RM9.5 million was spent to rehabilitate the project which sits on a 3.23ha piece of land.

The project consists of 96 units of medium-cost terrace houses.

"We did not pass on any additional cost to the house buyers and we also absorbed the deficit incurred in completing the project. The Certificate of Fitness for the project was obtained by the Seremban Municipal Council, two years after SPNB took over the project," he said.

Dr Kamarul said SPNB was also in the midst of completing the Taman Pelangi project in Sikamat, involving 320 units of houses in the state.
