DEVELOPERS should strive to fulfil their social obligations in all their
projects besides trying to rake in profits.

The advice came from the Regent of Pahang, Tengku Mahkota Tengku Abdullah
Sultan Ahmad Shah, who also said developers must ensure that their customers
would be satisfied with their purchase.

“Plan your projects to be affordable and cost realistic,” he said when
opening the Mega Property Exhibition at the Berjaya Megamall Shopping
    Complex in Kuantan recently.

Land in Pahang, said Tengku Abdullah, was still affordable making it an
inducement for people to view properties in the state favourably.

Tengku Abdullah also advised developers to take into consideration the
conservation of nature when developing a project.

“Don’t cut the hills or make them bald. We need to protect the environment
to ensure us of continuously getting clean water and fresh air,” he said.

He also cautioned developers not to compromise on quality in their projects
and to ensure that all construction were done according to building
standards to avoid tragedies or mishaps later on.

Earlier, executive councillor for housing, Datuk Sofi Tan Sri Razak, in his
speech, said the state government was accelerating the development of more
lost-cost houses to meet the demand of the low-income group in the state.

The state government, he added, also looked into lowering the cost of land
where possible to ensure that low-cost housing projects could be
    implemented.

The Mega Property Exhibition was organised by TM Digital and Souvenir Sdn
Bhd and showcased projects of some 42 developers, including several
prominent properties in Kuala Lumpur. |
