'Provide CF info online'
Sunday Times 24/4/2005
THE Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, yesterday suggested
that the local authorities (PBT) provide an online reporting system on
approvals of certificates of fitness (CF) for buildings.
Information on the applications and approvals for building plans could be
provided to the people immediately when such reports were provided online,
the Sultan said.
He made the suggestion in his speech at the opening of the meeting of the
second term of the 11th State Legislative Assembly, here.
Meanwhile, the State Exco for Environment and Multimedia, Datuk Ch'ng Toh
Eng, said the Sultan's proposal would be implemented soon.
"It's proper that the PBTs provide such reports online so that members of
the public are aware of projects that are being implemented," he said.
The PBTs would ensure that the projects that were being implemented were
complete and safe, while the developers must provide landscaping and
adequate details so that the process of approving CFs would be smooth, he
said.
In his speech, the Sultan also reminded State Assemblymen to look after
their image by refraining from corrupt practices.
"I wish to remind all that the National Integrity Plan (PIN) is being
enforced for everyone, including politicians," he said.
The Sultan also suggested that the State Government continued with the
programme on the inventory of social problems to overcome such woes.
The Sultan said he had received complaints from the public that the services
provided by the elected representatives and officers had not been
satisfactory. - Bernama
