Gazette reserved land, says MB

IPOH: All local authorities in Perak must gazette reserved land as open space by December.

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Tajol Rosli Ghazali said this would prevent re-served land from being in-advertently used for deve- lopment.

“There had been situations where a local authority had allowed a developer to erect buildings on reserved land without knowing its status,” he said after chairing the state exco meeting yesterday.

The land would be gazetted under the name of the state secretary, he said.

The directive to gazette reserved land as open spaces came from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi at a Kuala Lumpur meeting attended by mentris besar and chief ministers.
