Worker killed as block collapses

KUALA LUMPUR: An Indonesian construction worker was killed and two
others
were seriously injured when the front portion of a four-storey
apartment block under
construction collapsed yesterday.
The victim, identified only Arif, in his 20s, was working on the
ground floor at 8.30pm
when a walkway on the fourth floor gave was Five others working at
the site of Lunar
Venture apartments in Desa Sentosa, off Klang Road, were not hurt.
Jalan Hang Tuah Fire and Rescue Department operations chief Nuzaimi
Jaffar said two
engines, one from Old Klang Road, including a dog unit, were at the
scene within 10
minutes of being notified.
Firemen recovered Arif's body and the dog unit searched the area for
an hour, but
did not find any other victim. |
