No OC for completed apartments

Seven years after signing the sale and purchase agreement, Taman Kristal Block C buyers are frustrated because they could only look at the completed apartment block in Mount Erskine, Penang and not move in. 

Spokesman for the buyers Ng Lai Chin said the long wait for certificate of fitness for occupation (OC) was also draining their financial resources because most of them had to service housing loans and pay rental for their present accommodation. 

“Our elected representative (Kebun Bunga assemblyman Datuk Dr Teng Hock Nan) informed us that OC could not be issued because the developer did not fulfil certain conditions,” he said when staging a protest together with a group of house buyers outside Block C yesterday. 

“We hope affected purchasers will contact us, so that we can form a committee as soon as possible,” he said. 

Housewife Rosalyne Ang said she was contemplating postponing her daughter’s wedding until the OC was obtained. 

Ang said she had to pay RM530 monthly to rent an apartment in Farlim while waiting for the OC and on top of that, service the bank loan at about RM800 per month. 

Salesman Bhaskar Vor said his RM148,000 unit should have been delivered four years ago as stated in the sale and purchase agreement. 

“It is frustrating that we can only look at our dream home but cannot live in it,” he said, adding that he had to pay RM800 monthly to service the loan and come up with RM450 monthly to rent a flat in Gat Lebuh Macallum.
