Developer to hold internal inquiry on collapsed house

KUALA LUMPUR: The developers of a hillside townhouse project in Taman Desa, Seputeh, in which a partially-built house collapsed and killed a construction worker on Tuesday night, has launched an internal inquiry into the incident.

When contacted yesterday, a spokesman for Mampu Jaya Sdn Bhd told The Malay Mail that they have started their own investigations into the matter.

"Following the incident, we have launched an investigation concerning the collapse and we expect to release the findings in 14 days," said the spokesman.

However, he declined to confirm whether a stop-work order had been issued by City Hall following the incident. The company's managing director was unavailable for comment.
