Sri Perak Flats is the winner again

THE Sri Perak City Hall flats in Bandar Baru Sentul came out tops in this year's beauty and cleanliness contest organised by Kuala Lumpur City Hall. 

The overall cleanliness and attractive landscaping and decorations at the flat, as well as the co-operation among its residents, endeared the panel of judges once more when it was selected as the best in the public flats category for a second consecutive year. 

For the effort, the Sri Perak Residents Association received RM4,000, a certificate and a trophy at a prize-presentation ceremony held recently. 

Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI) was the best housing estate while Pangsapuri Sri Loging won the private apartments /flats category. 

Other first prize winners were Kampung Melayu Kepong (traditional and new village category), Setapak Jaya 1B flats (four-storey City Hall flats category) and PPR Jelatek (public housing scheme category). 

The TTDI Residents' Association received RM4,000, a trophy and a certificate for its achievement while the rest of the winners walked away with RM4,000 and a certificate each. 

The Sri Perak City Hall flats has beauty, cleanliness and attractive landscaping.

In the housing estate category, the first and second runners-up were Taman Bukit Maluri and Taman Sri Hartamas respectively.  

In the public flats category, Sri Kota flats came second and Keramat Jaya II third. Desa Pandan Apartment in Titiwangsa and Vista Magna Apartment in Kepong won the second and third places respectively in their category. 

Other winners were Kampung Selayang Lama (second place), Kampung Batu Muda (third place), Setapak Jaya 1A flat (second place in the four-storey public flats category), Razak Mansion (third place), PPR Jalan Lapangan Terbang Lama (second) and PPR Taman Wahyu 1 (third). 

The contest was aimed at turning Kuala Lumpur into a clean and beautiful city and encouraging the public to take good care of their city. 

Following the inaugural event last year, City Hall had included the village, PPR and four-storey public flats categories this year. 

The contest was held from July 15 to Sept 16. Judging and evaluation was held between Sept 17 and Sept 30.
