House buyers association tells developers to pay compensation
theedgedaily.com 10/4/2003 By Ng Kar Yean

The National House Buyers Association (HBA) wants the property developers to stop dragging their feet and make immediate compensation totalling RM120,000 to seven house buyers for late delivery of houses.

The association’s secretary-general Chang Kim Loong said on April 10 that the Tribunal for Homebuyer Claims had on March 25 granted the compensation claims made by seven house buyers against their developers for late delivery of houses. The developers were given 14 days to pay.

“After 14 days, the developers have not paid the compensation and want to bring the cases to the court for judicial review,” he told reporters at the Malaysia Property Expo 2003.

By refusing to pay, Chang said that the developers were not complying with the Tribunal’s regulations. He declined to name the developers.
